WindSonic
Features
- 2-axis ultrasonic wind sensor providing wind speed and direction
data
- 0-60m/s wind speed
- 0-359º wind direction range (no dead band)
- Free data
logging software
- Lightweight (0.5kg) and robust, corrosion free polycarbonate
exterior
- Low cost alternative to conventional cup and vane or propeller
wind sensors
- White version available
The WindSonic is a low cost ultrasonic alternative to conventional
cup and vane or propeller wind sensors. The WindSonic combines both
wind speed and direction data into one serial (or two analogue outputs),
which are transmitted together with an instrument status code, confirming
correct operation. The WindSonic provides accurate results in all
weather conditions where traditional mechanical sensors fail.
Advantages of the WindSonic
- low start speed
- corrosion free, UV stable material
- no calibration required
- robust construction
- true 0..359° operation (no dead band)
- wind speed and direction from a single unit
