New Gill WindObserver
FC
Wittich & Visser presents the new Gill WindObserver
FC, the 75 m/s heated ultrasonic wind speed and direction sensor
for higher wind speed applications.
The WindObserver FC is the new first class heated anemometer that
provides wind speed and direction data up to 75 m/s. The WindObserver
FC is specifically designed to measure wind speeds up to 75 m/s
with a high degree of accuracy. The elimination of moving parts,
together with a rugged stainless steel construction means that the
WindObserver FC is virtually maintenance free and requires no calibration
on site.
The small opposing transducers provide maximum possible directional
ultrasonic signals, used to provide wind data, whilst ensuring the
minimum possible flow distortion across the speed range. For high
wind speed applications and in poor weather conditions the four
transducers system is more robust than three transducer systems.
The unique heating system provides up to 72 W per transducer to
ensure best possible performance in icing conditions.
The flexible design ensures that the WindObserver FC can be configured
by the user to their exact requirements, which include 1, 2 or 4
Hz ouputs and heating. Communication is via an RS422 bidirectional
link, which allows data to be logged on demand. The first class
WindObserver FC has been rigourously tested to internationally recognised
standards and meets the stringent performance criteria specified
by airport, offshore, meteorological and environmental applications. |
