WindSonic ultrasonic wind meter

On the HortiFair 2006, Wittich & Visser showed the ultrasonic wind meter Gill WindSonic.

The WindSonic is an affordable ultrasonic alternative to conventional cup/vane/propeller wind sensors. The WindSonic is light weight, robust and maintenance free. The instrument has a self calibration function and transmits a status code. The WindSonic gives accurate results in weather conditions where traditional mechanical sensors faile.
